Terms of use

These terms describe how to use the site maru.family and the member area at my.maru.expert — what you may and may not do with the Maru Family club materials, how accounts work and when access can be closed.

The terms of purchase, payment, renewal and refunds are in a separate document — the public offer. How personal data is handled is described in the privacy policy.

By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site and do not set up access.

Your account

Access to the lessons requires an account with an email address and a password. The account is personal: it belongs to one person.

You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything that happens under your account. If you suspect someone else has used your access, change the password and write to support@maru.expert.

Please give a real email address: confirmations of payment, sign-in links and notices about charges are sent there. The Club is not responsible for the consequences of a mistyped address.

The club materials

All video lessons, recipes, texts, photographs and the design of the site are protected intellectual property belonging to the Club or lawfully used by it. Paying for a subscription gives you the right to watch the materials and cook from them, but does not transfer any rights in the materials themselves.

What you may do:

— watch the lessons personally, as many times as you like, during the paid period;
— download the PDF recipes and use them in the kitchen;
— cook from the recipes for yourself, for family and for sale — as a pastry chef you are free to sell what you have made.

What you may not do:

— share your login details with anyone, including within one family or team;
— record the screen, download the videos, forward lesson or recipe files;
— publish club materials in whole or in part on social networks, in messengers, on file-sharing services or other sites;
— use the materials in your own teaching: resell them, include them in your own courses, show them to a class;
— present the club's recipes and techniques as your own teaching materials.

If you cook from our recipes publicly — on a blog, on social media, in a pastry shop — a mention of the club is appreciated. It is a request, not an obligation.

Reviews and members' photos

In the member area you can leave a review of the club and attach a photo of your own bake.

By submitting a review and a photo you allow the Club to publish them on the site and in club materials, together with your name as it appears in your account. Publication is not guaranteed: the Club decides which reviews to show.

Please send only photographs you hold the rights to. If you change your mind, write to support@maru.expert and we will remove the review and the photo from the site.

The private chat

Members with a paid subscription get access to the club's private chat in Telegram. Access lasts as long as the subscription and closes at the end of the paid period.

Ordinary rules of respectful conversation apply. Advertising, spam, insults and sharing of club materials are grounds for removal from the chat without a refund.

When access can be closed

The Club may block an account without a refund if:

— the access is used by several people at once or the login has been shared;
— club materials are being recorded, copied or distributed;
— behaviour in the chat or in correspondence with support breaks the rules of conversation;
— knowingly false details were given when setting up access.

Before blocking we try to get in touch and sort it out: most often it is a misunderstanding rather than bad intent.

Availability of the service

The Club keeps the site and the member area running but does not guarantee that there will be no interruptions at all. Short maintenance windows are possible, as are failures at the video hosting, the payment systems and the messengers, for which the Club is not responsible.

If a failure on our side kept access closed for a noticeable time, write to us: we will extend the subscription by the length of the outage.

The lessons are informational and do not replace professional training. Responsibility for food safety rules and for the quality and safety of anything made from the club's recipes lies with the person making it.

Changes to these terms

The Club may change these terms by publishing a new version on this page. By continuing to use the site after publication you accept the changes.

Governing law and disputes

The relationship between the parties is governed by the law of the Republic of Poland. Disputes are settled in correspondence first: a claim is sent to support@maru.expert and answered within 30 calendar days.

How to reach us

For anything about the site, access or the materials, write to support@maru.expert or use the messengers listed on the contacts page.
